There’s no doubt about it that Peru has some of the best trails for hiking and mountain biking in the world. These networks, tucked into the Andes mountains, have connected cultures, communities, even cities since the time of the Inca empire. And they are still in prime conditions to explore today! We hear “off the beaten track” often but “Fish and Ride” truly is a hidden treasure of adventure travel. If fishing and biking are among your passions, you’ll find them indulged by pristine waters and remote mountain trails that are infrequently visited by anyone other than the locals. Peru Anglers and Peruvian Mountain Rides invite you to join us in Peru for this epic combination of fly fishing and enduro mountain biking. 9 action packed days, 5 world class mountain biking tracks and 3 exclusive fishing locations that will no doubt shorten your bucket list!

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley. Warm up biking and a tranquil walk in the breathtaking (literally) countryside of Lamay. Dinner and evening at The Lodge.
Day 2: Morning fishing on Andean lakes above Lamay where we have exclusive access. Epic downhill ride back to The Lodge, passing through the Huama indigenous community. Picnic lunch and free afternoon. Dinner and evening at The Lodge.
Day 3: Depart for Quince Mil, a small town in the eastern jungle of Cusco. Singletrack downhill ride starting at the “Abra Antigua”, passing alonside one of the highest and most important mountains in Peru: Ausangate. Picnic lunch en route while enjoying spectacular views of the source of the river that we will fish the following day. Dinner and evening at Kuporo Lodge.
Day 4: Full day float fishing the neighboring rivers and tributaries of Quince Mil in search of local yatorana and dorada species. Picnic lunch en route. With little chance of seeing other people, we’ll be treated to some of the best bird watching in Peru, as well as the chance to spot tapirs, capibaras and jaguars. An unforgettable experience for any outdoor junkie, fisherman or no. Dinner and evening at Kuporo Lodge.

Day 5: Depart Quince Mil for Cusco. Option for one or two singletrack downhill rides known as the “The Radar”. Now the “return” trip, transitioning from the jungle to the mountains. Dinner and evening at The Lodge.
Day 6: Machu Pichu or free day. Other options for activities – more biking or fishing, spa, cultural workshops, etc. – are available at The Lodge. Dinner and evening at The Lodge.
Day 7: Morning fishing our “Spring Creek” location in the Lares Valley. Picnic lunch. Downhill ride from the Lares mountain pass to Calca, one of most impressive trails in the Andes. Dinner and evening at The Lodge.
Day 8: Return trip to Cusco. Free day. Goodbye dinner.
Day 9: “Hasta luego” and hope to see you again! Departure flights from Cusco.
